A simple, flexible brand for a startup freelance cinematographer and camera operator.
Joe wanted a light brand which captured both his expertise and passion for his craft, so we built up an identity which has its roots set firmly in filmmaking and cinematography.
The typography direction was chosen to reference the formatting of film scripts, and the colours link both to Joe’s Welsh heritage and also to the standard record/play colours which we’re all so familiar with.
We built a suite of logos with a clear hierarchical order, to allow Joe the flexibility to use his brand in as many applications as possible while retaining readability – vital for a company which is at the very beginning of its journey in building brand recognition.
We also introduced a brand device: the viewfinder, constructed from a piece of the typographic logo.
